So here's the next place I had the chance to visit:
Paradise!
A place that truly lives up to it`s name:
A female Paradise Shelduck, plenty of which live around here. Maybe that's how the place got it's name? |
3 Paradise Ducks mid-flight |
Lake Wakapitu from Glenorchy boathouse |
A couple black swans enjoying the autumn sun |
So this is the view from Conical Hill over the Hollyford River valley. If you look closely you may spot the little piece of ocean at the end of the valley. |
Lake Harris |
The highest point of the track, |
and a staggering view over Mount Aspiring National Park |
Vegetation along the way |
Routeburn flats, seen from the Routeburn Falls hut; imagine waking up to this view! |
And finally, the first frost of the year! |
And here`s Paradise in all it`s beauty! |
A South Island Robin |
Dart River, somewhere along the Dart track |
Dart River mouth and the iconic Mount Alfred |
Some old truck |
Chinamans Flat and Mount Earnslaw to the right |
The Humboldt Mountain Range |
So in the middle of all this an important anniversary passed by: Two years of traveling, and every day is new adventure! So congratulation to myself! |
Some old mining equipment and Heather Jock Hut on the Judah Mine Track |
The hut with Mount Earnslaw n the back |
Lake Wakatipu and Tooth Peak in the background |
And at last: The town of Glenorchy, `Gateway to Paradise` |
