I'm still on holiday and just happen to catch a few bugs and reptiles that weren't hiding from the heat; not as well as others anyways...
An Eastern Blue-Tongued Skink. With a body lenght of up to 50cm one of the largest skinks there is.
Another Skink, although this one belongs to a different family.
Waterfall at Plain Creek, Victoria.
A Highland or Ramsay's Copperhead, from the Austrelaps family. This one was caught in our bird netting.
Like all other Elapides Copperheads are highly venomous and a bite can easily kill a healthy adult. Although very shy, safety precautions are mandatory when handling these animals.
A Praying mantis, Mantodea order
A honeybee on clover
A Damselfly, unsure of the family
A member of the Hymenoptera family; a relative of the wasps and ants.
Cobwebs covering Flax Lily berries
A Crimson Rosella
Definitely one of Australias most pretty parrots
An alpine cricket of the Tinzeda family
A juvenile bird, probably of the Falcon family.
An alpine Grasshopper.
