Birdlife

Unfortunately I'm still still stuck in New Zealand without the right to work. Mainly because the German Authorities refuse to sent digital copies of documents, even at times when international mail transport has more or less ceased. Ah, the joys of being citizen of a country whose bureaucracy hasn't changed or updated since block printing was invented in the 14th century...

Anyways, all the free time I had lately have turned out quite beneficial for my photographic skill, despite being filled with worry and anxiety about the future.

I have also joined a local photography group, which has proven to be a valuable source of tips and tricks to get more out of my camera and lenses. Here's a few shot from the recent past:

Bellbird, Seen at the Pukaha Wildlife Center

North Island Kaka, A separate species from the South Island Kaka, as they cannot cross the Cook Strait.

At Mount Holdsworth, Tararua Ranges. Great hiking trails everywhere!

Portrait of a chicken

Castlepoint Lighthouse

Seagull at Henley Lake Park, Masterton

A black Pen with her Cygnets. I wonder why my camera refuses to focus on black swans. No other object seems to elude the focus as much as these birds...

And the Cob, cleaning his feathers
