Waterfowls

It is a weird feeling indeed, not being allowed to work. A feeling one can't understand until one is in that very position. I have had plenty of situations where I didn't want to work, but never before was I not allowed to. Oh, well. Perhaps one day I can get rid of my German citizenship and live in a country whose government actually and genuinely cares about it's citizens. Does such a country really exist...?

Anyways, I spent a lot of time lately visiting Henley Lake Park in Masterton. Where I like to sit on a bench in my tattered clothes and have the ducks feed me with bread. But even in darkest times the camera is never out of reach. Here's a few pictures of my new-found feathery friends:

Do lichens flower? Does look a little like it.

Goose cleaning itself

Mallard floating. There's something peaceful about this shot!

Black Swan feeding

Goose resting. Didn't know they had blue eyes!

Flowering Arum Lily

Spotted on a recent hike in the Tararuas. Winter is still in full swing up there!

Mitre Peak 1572m, Highest peak of the Tararuas. Very nice hike!

Back to birds: Black Swan.

Cob, Pen and their Cygnets

Resting duckling

And a good clean after the well deserved rest
