Well, here's a few lines of humorous poetry about an experience I had recently.
The basic rhyme scheme is obviously taken from Bob Dylan's "Man in the long black coat", a song that always had a deep impact on me.
Anyway, please enjoy the quick read and until next time!
Cockies are chirping, the water is high
I sit on couch and ask myself why
Cows are mooing, the creek's flowing fast
Hay paddocks empty, the space is so vast
He's gone, not even a purr
The cat with the soft black fur
Chicken are roaming, so blue is the sky
Cars driving fast, just passing us by
The horses are grazing, 'neath trees oh-so tall
Leaves turning brown, it's the season of fall
It was hard to swallow, it stuck in my throat
I gave my heart to the cat in the soft black coat
Somebody's seen him near the fire on the chair
His eyes open wide, so soft was his hair
He looked in my eyes, when I stopped him to ask
If he wanted a pet, his face was a mask
He then ran away, I can only just guess
The cat in the soft black dress
There were no mistakes, it wasn't my fault
I gave him my heart, his shoulder turned cold
Gone is my dream, I've missed the boat
Run away hast the cat in the soft black coat
Skies turning grey, the rain's falling down
My smile has gone, I can only just frown
The fire is raging, I'm still feeling cold
My eyes softly weeping, my sorrows untold
He's bolted so fast as if given the spur
My dear cat with the soft black fur
