Winter

Winter here in New Zealand differs remarkably little from Summer, apart from the on average slightly cooler temperatures.

Another shag

Marlborough backcountry covered in snow. Quite a rare occurence.

Orange fungi on an old walnut tree just outside my door. Would love to know what these are called...

I took this picture when I was stuck at home with my so far only Covid-19 infection. Watching these emerge, grow, wilt and disappear again all within a few days was not just fascinating, it was also one of the very few things I was capable of in my incapacitated state.

A large willow at the local lagoon

A small insect slowly ascending the slope of my cars boot lid

Port Hills, Christchurch, and flax as seen from Ferrymead Park

An impromptu sunrise photoshoot with my car. I still think bullet mirrors, or variations thereof, are the sexiest shape, even though it is quite difficult to actually see anything in them.

Heron

Pukeko

Yawning Kingfisher, or Kotare.
