Birdlife

There are many things I heard about Australia before I came here.
One aspect of the Australian fauna however seems to be little known outside of the country.
What I'm talking about is the birdlife.
The variety, the colours, the sizes and shapes are simply staggering!
So I've been out and about shooting birds in the last few weeks with rather disappointing results,
seems as if I have to spend some more time behind the camera...
Anyhow, here are the few birds that were to slow to escape my camera:
A Satin Bowerbird,

famous for building wooden structures and decorating them with colourful objects to lure females.

Mountain Skink

Spotted Mountain Grasshopper

The King Billy Snow Gum, one of the oldest known snow gums.

Mount Buller in sunset

And the view from the top towards Mansfield

Magpies

A King Parrot

A Currawong

Two Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos

You'll have to look closely, but there's a Superb Blue Wren in this picture!

Another King parrot
